A breast cancer prevention resource!
This summer Women in Balance Institute has opened its doors to the Seventh Woman Foundation, an organization focused on preventing breast cancer through lifestyle and natural hormone balance. Their website has been a trusted resource for information on hormone imbalance, breast health and breast cancer research, all of which is now housed here on the WIBI website. For a sample, check out this page to see a few videos about hormone balance and breast cancer risk.
The story of the Seventh Woman Foundation
The logo of seven women—with the eighth woman’s empty form in their midst—depicts the pain of the lost mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends. One woman in eight will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and two of those will die of breast cancer. The logo depicts a Native American woman, a Hispanic woman, a woman from the Middle East, an African-American woman, an Asian woman and a Caucasian woman. They represent all ages from grandmother down to the little girl who embraces the shadowy figure of her missing mother. They are dressed then in ageless, classic robes to represent the universal wisdom of women. The number seven represents spiritual potential in virtually every religion on earth. It represents hope. Seven of us are left who must seek answers, and help each other in our own personal health journeys. The women in the logo have decided to be “their sister’s keeper.”
