Presenter: Heidi Peterson, ND

Practice your Exam Skills with Paid Models!

Dr. Heidi Peterson will review the step-by-step components of a well-woman physical exam. She will discuss pertinent questions to ask your female patients, and will demonstrate clinical breast exams (CBE), proper speculum technique, specimen collections and evaluation, bi-annual vaginal exams and more. Bring your questions!  A review of femcaps, diaphragms, and pessary fitting is also available if desired by participants. There will be approximately one hour of lecture and discussion, followed by two hours of hands-on practice of the basic exams with paid models.  This course is designed for the practitioner who feels out of practice with this primary care skill, or would like a chance to practice with supervision. Students are welcome if they have already completed a basic gynecology lab course. Dr. Peterson will answer all clinical questions and provide feedback on exam technique.
